In the beginning my plan was to sketch a pattern on my driveway with chalk and cover it with various flowers and leaves. As the weather is changing, there are less plants in my environment, but I was able to collect what I could and found it wasn't enough to accomplish what I had wanted. I took the materials I collected and went to a grassy area within my yard. I tried to create a smaller version of my original pattern but due to the wind and how spread out the pieces are, they kept blowing away. I stared at what I had and immediately saw a heart in the large leaves. I set one down and created the design you can see above. The editing I used really brought out the contrasting colors and textures. I titled this after one of my favorite french songs "La Vie en Rose", which translates to "The Life in Pink". The warm colors and floral aesthetic reminded me of the mood of that specific song. The filter and colors combined, in my opinion, form a wonderful looking earthwork.
